Hohsaas 12h Challenge 2023

The Hohsaas 12h challenge is a fundraiser for the Mentelity Games. The Mentelity Games is a 4 day ski- and snowboard event for people with a physical disability, which is held in Saas Grund from the March 27th until April 1st, 2023. More info about the Mentelity Games can be found here. 

The race will start on March 25th at 00:00am. In other words you will start the race in the dark and the first few hours of skiing or snowboarding will be in the dark. What is more special than seeing the sun rise in the beautiful surroundings of Saas Grund with all the 4.000 meter mountain peaks around you?

Next year, the Challenge will consist of 3 different types:

• Distance Challenge: for the fanatic racers, only the number of kilometers counts, the team with the most kilometers wins the challenge
• Fun Challenge: for the fun seeking racers, it’s great if you ski or snowboard as many kilometers as possible within 12 hours, but there will also be other aspects that will determine the winner of this challenge (criteria will be shared later, for example: the funniest team outfit) 
• Tour Challenge: for the adventurous people, make as many kilometers as possible on the tour track, without using a lift. Walk up, ski or snowboard down.

There will be a maximum of 100 teams to participate in each discipline. Each team consists of 3 participants (ski, snowboard or a combination). During the challenge, there is always one team member on the slope, based on a rotation schedule you can decide yourself with your team.
